What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

MFA adds an extra layer of security that requires users to provide two or more forms of verification.

Typically, this involves something the user knows (like a password) combined with something they have (like a smartphone for receiving a code via text or app).

MFA - Authentication App (Recommended Method)

If you choose an Authentication App as your MFA option, you will need to have an App downloaded to your smartphone or other device. Google, Microsoft, Apple, Bitwarden are all widely used authenticators.

  1. After clicking “continue” the next page will provide you with a QR Code for you to scan in your chosen app.
  2. Using your app, click the "+" sign, and choose, "Scan QR Code".
  3. Once you've made your scan, Xvoucher will be set up in the app going forward. You will not need to scan a QR code each time you'd like to log in, instead you will simply open your App and enter in the code provided into the boxes (as shown in the Screenshot).

  • If you choose this method but aren't able to get an App set up, you can click the link "Select a different method", which will take you back to the first page. Here you'll want to choose SMS Text.

MFA - SMS Text

Should you choose to authenticate your account via SMS Text Message, you'll be asked to provide your Cell Phone Number that accepts Text Messaging. Use the drop down to select your country code prefix, and then enter your phone number in the text box.

At this time not all countries are supported for receiving text messages. If you do not see your country appear in the country code prefix drop down, please choose Authentication App as your delivery method.

  • If you didn't receive a text message containing the code, please click the button on your page to send a new code.
  • If you've requested multiple new codes and are not receiving a text message containing the code, please click the back button in your browser and select Authentication App to validate your account.

Changing MFA Delivery Method

Once MFA has been set up, it cannot be disabled, only the delivery method can be changed. To change the delivery method

  1. Log into your account via Xvoucher Login
  2. Click on your name in the upper right corner, and select "My Account".
  3. Then choose "Update MFA Settings". Here, you can select Authentication App, or SMS Text.
